Graeagle is located north of Tahoe, CA, and east of Reno, NV, nestled in the beautiful Sierra Mountains. Depending on your preference, we recommend the following...

TRAVEL INFORMATION:

Flight In (recommended)

Fly into Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO). From there we recommend renting a car at the Reno Airport to drive out to Graeagle, which is about 45 minutes to 1 hour drive. note: we do recommend renting a car vs. Uber or Taxi because when you get into Graeagle there are not many options for transportation if you want to explore.

Drive In:

If you are driving in, you will enjoy a beautiful drive through the mountains. (coming from the South) We recommend driving to Sacramento and taking the I-80 toward Truckee. Once you get to Truckee you will take the CA-89 N to Sierraville. You will then take CA-48 S until you reach Graeagle, CA.

HOTELS & ACCOMMODATIONS:

Nakoma Resort: Use our room block link (see below) to book either 2 Queen Beds or 1 King Bed rooms. There are also vacation rentals/villas available at Nakoma, which might be ideal for families traveling together.

There are additional accommodation options if you do not wish to stay at the Nakoma on the wedding venue (link). Where you will find a wide variety of options. We recommend booking as soon as possible as the Summer time in this area is busy!

TRANSPORTAION:

Transportation will be provided for the Wedding Day event only.

The Nakoma Resort is about 25 minutes from the wedding venue.

For other days, especially the Welcome Party, we recommend renting a car at Reno airport. The area is remote, so a car will make it easier to explore and get around. Especially if you plan to stay in Tahoe through the weekend, you will want a car!

POST-WEDDING PLANS:

After the wedding, on Friday, July 18th, 2025, we plan to travel to North Lake Tahoe for the weekend (Friday to Sunday). We’d love for our family and loved ones to join us for additional time together for dinner, drinks and enjoying the surrounding areas.

Suggested itinerary for your travels if you’re joining for the Tahoe weekend:

Tuesday, July 15th: Arrive in Graeagle and check in to Nakoma Resort.

Friday, July 18th: Check out of Nakoma Resort and head to Tahoe.

Friday, July 18th – Sunday, July 20th: Stay in Tahoe.

Additional Accommodations Nearby: Incline Lodge (closest), Border House Crystal Bay, or Tahoe Edgewood (a little further). There are also a lot of full home rentals/ lodges in the area - and we are happy to help look if you have any questions!

Sunday, July 20th: Fly back home from Reno (RNO), which is about 1 hour from Tahoe (depending on where you stay).

The Sierra region is absolutely stunning in the summer, so feel free to extend your trip if you have the time.
